How much does garage door repair cost?

Why will my garage door not close?
Usually the photo eyes near the floor are blocked, dirty, or knocked out of line. If the door goes down partway and reverses, that is the first thing to check. If it will not move at all, it is more likely a spring, cable, or opener problem. Call and we will walk through it on the phone.

How long do garage door springs last?
Torsion springs are rated in cycles, usually around 10,000, which is seven to twelve years for most households. Cold snaps finish off springs that are already near the end. If yours is original to a 1990s house, it is due.

Can I open the door manually if the opener is dead?
If the springs are intact, yes, the red release cord disconnects the opener and the door lifts by hand. If a spring is broken, do not try. The door weighs too much to hold and can drop. Call us instead.
